Alexander K. Koch received his doctoral degree from the University of Bonn for his dissertation "Contracting in the presence of career concerns" in December 2003. He worked as a Lecturer at Royal Holloway, University of London until August 2008, when he joined the University of Aarhus. One theme in his research is the interaction of career concerns incentives with explicit incentives. Current research projects are on the link between job assignments, promotions and incentives; self regulation through goal setting; and buyer reputation in auctions
